Divers Break World Record By Playing Board Games
AUSTRIA
- Four Austrian divers played board games as they stayed underwater
for nearly two days to break a world record.
They were watched
by curious shoppers after their glass 'aquarium' was set up in a shopping
complex.
The quartet stayed
underwater for 41 hours - even rejecting the five minutes per hour rest
which Guinness Book of Records organisers allowed them.
The nearly two-day
record breaking event was staged in Weiz, Styria, the same province
where the previous world record was set.
Organiser Heinz
Habe said the divers, aged between 42 and 47 "just came out as
if it had been a normal eight-hour working day."
The men used a specially-weighted
Ludo board game to keep themselves occupied while they waited to beat
the 40 hour 36 minute record.
