Year Old Boy Mimics Fire Engine Sound & Saves Parents Lives
GLOUCESTER - A
two-year-old boy made the sound of a fire engine to wake his parents
after smoke filled his bedroom.
Zavier Lawson-Smith
made his way downstairs and kept repeating "Nee naw, nee naw"
until his mother Rebeca got up.
When she went upstairs
she found Zavier and his sister Zaquira's bedrooms filled with smoke.
The family managed to escape to safety before fire engulfed their two-storey
flat in Gloucester.
Zavier's dad Martin
Lawson-Smith said: "We were fast asleep but Zavier got himself
down the stairs and came to us and said, 'Nee naw, nee naw, nee naw,'
like a fire engine. We told him to go back to sleep, but he persisted.
Eventually, Rebeca went up to see what the fuss was about.
"When she got
upstairs, the smoke was so thick she could not see. I looked out of
the window and saw a fire engine."
The drama unfolded
when a blaze started in the flat next door to their first floor maisonette,
reports the Daily Record.
