Lend
a Pet Program Launches on the Net
LONDON
- Dog lovers are being given the chance to lend out and borrow pets
over the internet.
London-based Laura
Stevens says she set up the site because she wanted to look after a
pet, but couldn't do it all the time.
She
says the site helps people like herself, as well as dog owners who want
to go on holiday or need help looking after their pets.
People
register for the service at www.borrowadog.com.
Those
wanting to borrow a dog pay £20 a year, while owners wanting help
with their pet pay £30 a year.
Ms
Stevens told the Evening Advertiser: "Our service provides an ideal
way to match the needs of dog lovers everywhere.
"As
our logo says: 'Sharing the responsibility, sharing the joy.'"
She
vets potential carers before allowing the dogs to be borrowed, she says.
