Contestants are gearing up for a pig screaming imitation competition
in France.
The competition in the village of Trie-Sur-Baise in the Midi Pyrenees
is part of its 20th porcaillade, or pig festival.
Contestants must imitate a screaming pig during various stages of its
life - including just before it's slaughtered.
The victor wins a full pig, along with its head.
Contestants also have to imitate a piglet's scream and a pig's scream
before it eats.
Previous champions include an 80-year-old man and a 13-year-old contestant.
The festival includes a piglet race - spectators can bet on the winner
- and the French black pudding-eating championship.
Jean-Marc Aubian from the trade association in Trie-sur-Baise told
Ananova: "One year we had a winner in his 80s. His performance
on stage trying to imitate a screaming pig in a love scene was fantastic
entertainment".
Each year, 2,000 to 2,500 people celebrate the pig festival, many of
them tourists.
The pig screaming competition usually attracts between 15 and 20 contestants.
Mr Aubian added: "We are expecting a TV crew from Korea to film
pig breeding. We are also expecting Canadian television to come."
