Largest Paella Record Set In Spain
Spanish cooks are claiming a world record for a paella they cooked for
110,000 people in one pan.
Chief cook Antonio Galbis used six tonnes of rice, 12 tonnes of chicken
and rabbit, five tonnes of vegetables, and 1,100 litres of olive oil.
He also used a pan with a 21-metre diameter and a team of 80 cooks
to prepare the food in Moratalaz near Madrid.
Mr Galbis already broke the paella-making world record in 1992 when
he made a dish for 100,000 people, according to reports on the ABC Espana
The onlookers didn't finish all the food and the leftovers were donated
to homeless charities.
