A man who graduated from university in 1933 has left his entire
$5 million estate to its rival.
James L Sharp - a graduate of Kansas State University - left the
cash to the University of Kansas.
A friend says he never forgave his former university for not helping
him find a job after he left.
Margaret Hamilton says Mr Sharp, from Fort Dodge, Kansas vowed
never to give a penny to it.
"Once he made a decision and he felt it was the right decision,
boy he stuck with him no matter what," she told the Kansas
City Star.
Julie Lea, a spokeswoman for the Kansas State University Foundation,
says she didn't know about his grudge against the university.
"I think that certainly reflects the time in which he graduated,"
she says. "It's a shame he had that feeling."
Mr Sharp had several menial jobs until he joined the Boeing Military
Airplane Co in Wichita as a certified public accountant. He worked
there until he retired in 1976.
He also invested on the stock market. He married but didn't have
any children. His wife died in 1994.
