A couple who missed out on a large Lottery win two
months ago have won £1 million on a scratchcard.
David Lynch would have matched five balls with his
regular numbers, but his girlfriend forgot to buy a ticket.
He says he felt sick at missing out on more than
£2,000 but decided to try his luck at scratchcards instead.
Mr Lynch, a council doorman from Leicester, says
it shows perseverance pays off.
The 53-year-old told The Sun: "I scratched
one card and didn't win anything, but made a snap decision to buy
another one. When I saw the £1 million prize I went as white
as a sheet."
His girlfriend, Yvonne Julian, said: "The wait
was certainly worthwhile."
