A Norwegian pensioner has saved a baby's boy's
life after his mother crashed her car into a fjord.
Inge Kavli, who is 73, was driving in Andalsnes
when he saw the baby floating in the water. His mother was shouting
for help.
Mr Kavli swam the 20 metres to the sixth-month-old
baby and brought him to safety.
"It was very cold but I had only one thing
on my mind - to save the baby," he told Nettavisen.
He added: "I was sure the baby was dead.
He was white, almost blue."
Mr Kavli and the baby's mother then went to
his car. The baby "came to life again" in his mother's
arms, Mr Kavli said.
"The pensioner saved the baby boy's life,"
Rauma police spokesman Havard Rognerud said.
