A woman who inadvertently changed her regular
lottery numbers when she forgot her own birthday has won a fortune.
Mary Wira of Saskatchewan, Canada, usually based
her numbers on family birthdays.
But this time she mistakenly put down 22 for
her own, which is actually on the 23rd.
Mrs Wira, who is 60, won the $10 million (£4.4
million) jackpot.
Mrs Wira, who has been playing the same numbers
for the past 15 years, said: "I couldn't figure out what
this 22 was. Here I had my birthday wrong. My birthday's on
the 23rd."
She plans to share a quarter of the money with
75 family members, adding: "I just thought, oh boy, I can
help everybody now."
But her immediately plans include a trip to
Graceland with three friends. "I gotta go find Elvis,"
she said.
She says she will buy a new van but doesn't
plan to retire from her job as manager of a Dairy Queen shop,
reports the Canoe website.
