An
Institute
for Ethical Leaders
by Nicole M Whitney, dgnd
The
Institute for Ethical Leadership was
established in February of this year - the
same time as Know News. Founder and
co-owner of the Creative Learning
International Desmond Berghofer says of his
organization is to set a new scale for ethical
competition; an ethical quotient. 'We want to
provide a way for people in our organization
to consider how they do business.'
Berghofer's mission is to see a heathier
society 'based on ethical principles and
promoting leadership action based on those
principles.' And we wants to do this both
locally and globally. 'We want society to
become a more compassionate humane
place.' The Institute for Ethical Leadership
has four goals: educating it's members,
modeling where they lead by example,
partnership where they connect with other
like minded people and groups and influence
where the circle is 'continually widened'.
Membership for the year costs $500 and that
covers 10 'events' where Berghofer brings in
speakers on the topic of ethical leadership
from around the world. 'We're bringing in
some of the best thinkers in the world,'
Berghofer told Know News. Current
member role has topped 25. 'We gradually
want to refine our purpose and direction and
move into an action component where we set
up eight constituencies and reach out through
a seminar forum.' The 'constituencies' will
be business leaders, educators, parents,
community youth leaders, public office
leaders, non profit leaders and leaders of the
senior citizen community. People interested
in contacting this non profit organization can
