Diederik has been a facilitator, public speaker, counsellor and coach in private practice for many years.

He has been committed to a journey of inner peace which started in 1942 in a Japanese prisoner of war camp. Detours, and seeming set backs, such as periods of alcohol and drug abuse, served as valued teachers, once perceived as such.

Every event in our lives is an opportunity to learn and release some elements from the past.

All healing, ultimately, is the release of fear.

	In addition to serving a private practice, Diederik has the privilege to work with youth and their families for an organization called Youth on Purpose. (www.youthonpurpose.com)
Both in private practice and with YOP, Diederik teaches and practices a blend of Attitudinal Healing (www.healingcenter.org) with the work of Byron Katie, A Course in Miracles and Bhuddism. Silence and non judgmental listening form imprortant cornerstones to this work.
	Once having the experience of truly being heard, clients arrive at a deep level of acceptance. It is not until this acceptance of self is experienced that clients can access the potential for new choices. Ultimately our experience is our choice, but that is a meaningless concept unless deep 'archeological excavation' of one's beliefs is undertaken.
