Nature's
Path/LifeStream
manufactures a full line of flavorful, healthy cereals, breads, and
waffles made from whole grains and natural ingredients with no preservatives
or artificial flavors. They are always looking at new and innovative
ways to develop our product line and currently have five categories:
The
development of new products is a key component of the industry and their
company. On average, they introduce at least one new product every year.
With their new plant in the United States, their product development
will grow at an even larger rate than before and Nature's Path/LifeStream
will have the greatest range of natural and organic cereals in North
America.
Why
Organic? (info from Natures Path):
There's a very
simple reason why many of the world's top chefs call for organically-grown
food in their recipes. Organic farming starts with the nourishment of
the soil. Which leads to the nourishment of the crop. Which leads ultimately
from our fork... to our palate. Taste the difference yourself.
Good
soil. The foundation of our food chain.
Healthy soil starts
with a healthy attitude. Well cared-for soil is a living, breathing
mass of organisms, teeming with life. Scoop up a handful of living soil
and you'll discover a rich, woodsy-smelling aroma. This complex multitude
of microscopic life not only adds to the biomass of the planet, but
adds the fullness of life to the food we eat.
What
do these "Certified Organic" labels stand for?
Organic farming
is a far more sophisticated process than just avoiding chemical fertilizers
and sprays.
"Organic"
is a specific legal definition, further regulated by independent, third-party
certification organizations who require careful record-keeping and enforcement
of strict guidelines for soil management and fertility.
In
fact, not every farm qualifies.
While fumigants,
fungicides and waxes may extend shelf life, they don't extend any hope
to tired taste buds.
Organic food is
like universal health care. Sure, you pay a small premium, but the alternative
is not very tasty. Organically-grown fruits, vegetables and grains spring
forth from fertile soil. They are picked in the peak of flavor and taste.
And, their true flavor is not hidden by chemicals designed to maintain
cosmetic appearance at the expense of taste and quality.
Searching for good
old-fashioned flavour? Look to good, old-fashioned ways of growing food.
Make an organic investment in the earth.
Once we add in the
long term environmental costs, it's estimated that a head of lettuce
we pay 49¢ for today will cost an extra $2 to $3 in subsidies,
environmental degradation and added health care costs over the long
term.
Your food choice
determines how our environment is treated. Every dollar you spend on
organically-grown food helps build a system of food production that
stewards the earth's resources. Choose organic, and you pass on a legacy
to the future. Choose organic, and you too become a steward of the earth.
