This website has
evolved from the mutual concerns of one small group of people connected
by an email sent out on September 11, 2001, from Guelph, Ontario, Canada.
That email developed into a private e-zine, "Treading Lightly".
The messages and forum moved and developed peacefully, ultimately requiring
more presence and more possibilities.
The
question then became: How? How to maintain the meaning of THE ELEVENTH
within our daily awareness and activities? How to share in ways that
can bring meaning and spread peace? How to honour THE ELEVENTH and move
forward addressing the healing that is imperative? How to continue in
a meaningful state of awareness? Thus, www.ThePassionateSoul.com was
born to be a reminder, a connector, a conduit, an alternative informer,
an inspirer.
This website is
dedicated to the belief that The Eleventh of September has made it imperative
that compassion and clarity be manifested and disseminated in the world.
Thepassionatesoul.com promotes, supports and carries out its web-based
information based on:
• safety, sanity
& healing
•the dignity
and sanctity of life
• trust in
a much bigger picture than we can see
• peaceful,
original and ingenious voices joining together to create a collective,
growing energy and a spread of peace

Ellyn Peirson and
Darlene Janssen are the sole proprietors of www.thepassionatesoul.com.
Following The Eleventh,
Ellyn and Darlene learned that they also share a passion for freedom
of communication. The possibility of joining together to promote peace
and healing grew out of Ellyn's beginning of a personal newsletter,
Treading Lightly, conceived on The Eleventh.
Since words are Ellyn's
medium, and website skills are Darlene's, they saw that one small contribution
they could make toward the healing of suffering on this aching, beautiful
planet would be to design a broadcast-and-receptacle tool composed of
words and images. To enhance the words and design, thepassionatesoul.com
is supported by the exquisite art work of Laura Beingessner 'Painter
and Illustrator'.
It is simply not
good enough for anyone to take the easy way out these days by saying
"I am too small... insignificant... powerless... to make a difference"!
The internet can help us accumulate and amplify good or evil more quickly
than any tool we, the commoners, have ever possessed. The Passionate
Soul uses it in the awe of ‘holy fear and trembling' and in the
belief that it can be a tool for good. We also believe that no one owns
or controls goodness, and that goodness is meant for everyone.
