Man to Cycle 10,000 miles (again) to inspire kindness
In a bid to collect one million random acts of kindness, Brock Tully
and a dedicated team are embarking on a seven-month, 10,000-mile
North American bike trek, which will leave Vancouver on February
26th and will encircle North America, returning to Vancouver for
a homecoming celebration on September 17th. The dedicated team members
are on a mission to raise people's awareness of the profound impact
of kindness and inspire heartfelt action.
“Kindness speaks to a deep human longing for heartfelt connections
and provides individuals with a simple, yet profound way to reconnect
and make a positive difference in this world.” In addition
to holding Town Hall Forums in cities throughout North America,
the team will be reaching out to people in schools and the community
to encourage them to make kindness a regular part of their daily
life.
“The
bicycle trip for me is to inspire kindness where our actions are
in the best interest of all women and mankind. I believe that
when we touch others’ hearts we rekindle our oneness and see that
we are all “kindred spirits” says Brock Tully, author, book store
owner and former West Vancouver resident.
Here’s
a few words on Brock Tully by kindness committee member Karen Price.
Brock
Tully was born in West Vancouver on February 26th, 1947, the youngest
of two brothers; Brent, who became an astronomer and is Canada’s
Who’s Who, and Blair who became a prominent political figure.
Brock decided to cycle around North America when he was in his early
twenties to “find himself”.
This journey changed the course of his life and has affected the
lives of thousands of otehrs. Brock is what Gary Zukav refers
to in Seat of the Soul as a “great soul”. He is the co-founder
of Clam Chowder for the Soul, Porridge for the Soul and KindActs.
He
has been an active member of the community and was nominated for
the Ethics in Action award in 1998. He has been the owner
operator of a tea house in Kelowna and he and his wife, Wilma, have
just recently sold Greenhouse Books...where people grow, after six
successful years.
Brock’s caring and compassion have inspired hundreds of souls in
Vancouver, alone. Brock’s current adventure is cyclingg around
North America with his Cycling for Kindness team.
They depart on a seven month journey starting on Brock’s birthday:
February 26th, 2000.
Join
Brock & the team of cyclists and kindness crusaders at his send
