Spud
started in March 1998 and is now the largest local buyer of organic
produce. This growth is beginning to have an impact on the growers in
the B.C. area as they can guarantee a market for certain crop.
SPUDS
is making a difference to the environment in many ways. They run an
average of 90 deliveries per truck load, which means 90 less cars are
on road making trips to their food market to shop. And all groceries
are delivered in fully refrigerated step vans fueled by natural gas
or propane which have 30% lower emission.
