 Meet the newest member to the News for the Soul team - Rita Raju. BIO: I grew up in a spiritual family following the teachings of Sai Baba of unity of faiths(Sarva Dharma), Oneness and the Human Values (Love, Peace, Righteousness and Truth). After having been on many pilgrimages to India and even meeting many Guru's here and learning their teachings...I still felt something missing. My inner world was not reflecting the outer world that I saw and soon I realised that sitting around and listening to people or reading a million books on spirituality was not the answer. I had to get out and do something. I found true purpose is with "News for the Soul". I wondered where I could indulge in the essence of the knowledge I was taught being put into action combined with chanting, shamanic's, healing and many many great teachers such as our guests on the show. It's the "whole" package! Mr. Emoto's results from the "water crystal project" prove the effect that words have on our being. It is very important to say positive things anywhere, everywhere and all the time. I feel so honored to be a part of this team in an effort to transform all those crystals to shine like stars with positive words about our true being and lifting awareness to higher states of consciousness...it's pretty cool:).

Karl has been a volunteer for us since the early years when we printed a small monthly positive news newspaper in Vancouver suburbs and hosted many an event around town... During the show, he's on the phones in the producer's booth. At events, he's often there taking photos for news for the soul's web coverage. |
graffiti angel Karl is a one of a kind nice guy and here's proof. Here's the sort of thing we caught Karl doing in his spare time:
Pictured above is Karl Schmidt scrubbing in positive words in the dirty curbways that line the highways stretching out toward his Maple Ridge home. He said he was sitting in traffic one day and was suddenly struck with the thought that he could replace negative graffiti with positive affirmation type messages. And so that evening, he grabbed his bleach, bucket and brush and got to it. It made for an interesting explanation when the police pulled up (seriously!).
The thing is, that wasn't a singular epiphany ~ that's how - and who - Karl is - all of the time! Karl has also authored two inspirational "books of thoughts" (Tiny Book of Thoughts and Tiny Book of Thoughts II) which we love to recommend. Contact Karl for more info click here

 Whenever news for the soul hosts an event, Elizabeth Scott can usually be seen somewhere near the entrance way, clip board in hand.
Elizabeth is another caring soul who's contributed her energy into news for the soul for years. By profession she does emotional counselling, tarot readings, healthy cooking classes, runs the "Wise Womens Club" and more.
