I won’t give you a declarative answer to the question…but I will provide you with some information so that you can make an informed decision…I certainly know what I would do.

1) There have been several measles outbreaks in vaccinated children that don’t get any public acknowledgment, for example:

– 100% of the kids with the measle outbreak had been vaccinated: http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/00000359.htm

–  6500 people were infected with the mumps in 2006 – and the majority were college students who had received the two doses of MMR (Dr Mercola:  Kids given Vaccines have 22 times the Rate of Ear Infections)

2) the IOM (Institute of Medicine) which is a part of the NAoS (National Academy of Sciences) analyzes data and gives recomendations to the government.  Their latest report came out in August of 2011 – over a period of 3 years they reviewed over 1000 studies on vaccines but EXCLUDED studies funded by Big Pharma.  They examined two types of studies:  epidemiological (comparing large groups of people) and Bench science (exploring the biological mechanisms with the tissues, cells and molecules).  They focused on 8 types of vaccines:

• 1) Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR)
• 2) Hepatitis A&B
• 3) Meningococcal (Meningitis)
• 4) Diphtheria/tetanus/acellular pertussis (Whooping cough)
• 5) Varicella zoster (Chicken pox)
• 6) HPV (Human Papilloma virus)
• 7) Influenza
• 8) Pneumococcal vaccine (streptococcus)

Now look at the problems with the study:

1) they identified over 100 different negative health outcomes including:

• Autism
• Encephalitis
• Encephalopathy (involving permanent brain damage)
• Lupus
• MS
• Rheumatoid arthritis

2) but they couldn’t identify whether the vaccines were the cause!  Why?

• the studies were not available in published literature
• there were two few studies showing the same link
• the available studies had poor methodological protocol
• the studies showed contradictory results

The challenge with all of this according to Barbara Loe Fisher (co-founder & president of the NVIC (National Vaccine Information Center ) is “What I cal this category is the “We Don’t Know” category.  When you think about it, these vaccines are mandated for children, and yet in most instances the scientific evidence [of safety] is so poor, they don’t know!  When the report came out there were a lot of organizations like the American Academy of Pediatrics that came forth and said ‘They didn’t find causation…So vaccines are safe.’ That’s NOT what that report said at all.  I think people need to understand the significance of it…[T]he category of ‘We Don’t Know’ is a very important category…”  http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2011/11/01/more-parents-waking-up-to-vaccine-dangers.aspx

3) large studies comparing the outcome of vaccinated vs non vaccinatd children have not been done

they claim it would be unethical to do a study and leave children non-vaccinated but over 13% in the US refuse to have their children vaccinated – so the group is there

further, a report was released in 2010 by the VaccinInjury.info comparing the health of vaccinated children with those not vaccinated AND to date over 7850 surveys have been submitted and to date the following information has been collected…now note, this is not a double blind cross over study – it is dependent on the individuals willing to submit the data.
