What was your first moment of ‘beyond 3d normal awakening’? Many years ago, I was working with a spiritual energy coach doing energy flow, chakra openings, and other techniques, and I experienced a strong kundalini energy release and sense of awakening. I still distinctly remember how much brighter and more colorful the world seemed after that (and still does).
2. Who is your favourite teacher, book and movie? I have two favorite spiritual teachers: Wayne Dyer and Eckhart Tolle. They are very different teachers, but when their teachings are combined, I think they are more powerful and complete. My favorite book… Wow, that’s a tough one because I’ve liked so many spiritual books. But I’m going to say Conversations with God Book 4: Awaken the Species, which happens to be the one I’m reading now. My favorite movie is Independence Day… I’ve never had occasion to see a spiritual movie.
3. What’s the strangest experience you’ve ever had? The one I’m going to mention doesn’t sound too strange, but it changed my life forever. For many years I was an atheist. Then one day I went to a bookstore, picked up an interesting book, and opened to a random page. My name was on that page, and the author extensively quoted an article I had published. I went back the next day to buy the rather expensive book, but it was not there — it was being packed for return to the publisher. BUT I felt absolutely certain that it was NOT a coincidence but rather the Universe reaching out to me personally and sending me a message. And I then began an intense spiritual exploration to understand that message. The message, I concluded, was “Wake up. You need to know that there is much more to the Universe than you comprehend. And you have a purpose that you have not yet realized.”
4. What’s one interesting thing we do not know about you yet? I’m a wannabe musician. I was the lead singer in a rock band in high school. I played in folk groups in high school and college. And now I play guitar, bass, cajon, and djembe occasionally with my son in law.
5. What do you feel your true life purpose to be? For a long time, I have felt a calling to be a spiritual teacher. I just was never sure what form that would take. Now I’m sure that I and all spiritual teachers must help people awaken sooner rather than later.
6. What’s your favourite animal? I love dogs and cats, but I’ve always had a special attraction to foxes. They are really beautiful animals, and I have a picture of one in my study near my desk.
7. What’s your favourite consciousness or energy ‘exercise’ that helps you stay connected, grounded and ‘tuned in’ in a good way? There are many great exercises that I do at different times, but my favorites are: 1) feeling awe (I just have to look at the Austrian pine tree right outside my window) which instantly fills me with high vibration energy, and 2) affirming the Choice of Life by feeling my oneness with the whole of life; and I feel that as life energy carrying me and flowing through me with very high spiritual energy.
8. What’s your favourite music / song / musical artist? My favorite music is smooth jazz and new age. One of my favorite songs is Moola Prayer by Maneesh de Moor. Another is Journey by Kelly Andrew.
9. What’s your favourite food? My very favorite meal is sweet potato masala and saag paneer from our local India restaurant.
10. What excites your creative juices? Writing or recording or teaching something for students of spirituality and doing it in the flow of total inspiration. It is a wonderful feeling when I know it was done well with a clear message to the reader/listener/student.
11. What’s the one thing you’d like to “shamelessly self promote” here today? I have a podcast called Spiritual Indies Only (although it’s soon going to have a name change). But I’d especially like to promote my life coaching and spiritual coaching programs which are described at LiveYourSuccess.com. My coaching is designed to help people love their lives. And in the case of the spiritual coaching program (Awaken to Your True Self), it’s very adaptable but aimed at helping all students begin to awaken.
