Having each lost our spouses at a young age, we met while volunteering for an organization that supports the widowed community all across the world. We became fast friends, and dreamed of creating a space for people to connect over the comfort and understanding that various holistic and energetic practices can bring into our lives. Many hours of phone calls, studying, and certifications later, the Groves of Zen was born.
My journey with the energetic realms began after the sudden death of my fiance in 2014. In an instant, what I believed about the world and our role in it shifted dramatically and I began searching for answers. Without any clue as to what caused his death, I skeptically began seeking out mediums who could connect with his spirit to answer some of our questions. Through my many experiences, it became quite clear that people actually do have the ability to connect with others who have passed; thus began my journey into the energetic and spiritual worlds, where I was shocked to find a common theme – that we all have the ability to connect to the energy that surrounds us…we’ve just turned it off over time.
Taking a deep dive into the energetic world and our connection to it, I stumbled into the comfort, peace, and joy that comes from ancient healing modalities such as Reiki and DNA Activation. I fell in love with working with the Angels, Archangels, and Ascended Masters, and it’s my honor to bring all of this to you here in the Groves of Zen.
Mary is an RN Certified Aromatherapist. She obtained her Registered Nurse and Public Health Nurse license, as well as her Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree in 2003. With a calling to teach she received her Masters of Science in Nursing in 2012 with an emphasis in Nursing Education.
Mary always had a sense there was more, more to medicine and more to the well being of her patients. During her many years as a hospice nurse, she witnessed first hand the power of comfort and healing using non traditional types of treatments. In her education studies she continued to pursue the elements of alternative treatments. After the sudden death of her husband in 2010, leaving her broken and the mother of 2 small boys, her perspective changed. She sought out not only physical well being, but universal well being and the importance of being happy. This drive opened a new world of toxin free living. Enter…essential oils and energy healing modalities. Her love of all things natural grew into a love of product creation, as well as substituting as many natural products as possible with anything synthetic, especially medications. She became a certified nurse aromatherapist in 2020 through the Integrative Aromatherapy Certification Program as well as a certified Reiki Practitioner.
This whole event happened while I was in a room with 150 other people across the span of maybe 5 minutes. To me, the experience felt like it was a solid half hour. It was an exercise in trust and being comfortable in the uncomfortable. It was an exercise in love, being reunited with my lost love and my Guardian Angel. It was an exercise in learning, letting go of my physical body and going with the flow wherever it took me. It was a gift, and one for which I will always be grateful.
What was your first moment of ‘beyond 3d normal awakening’?
I have been a nurse for almost 20 years, particularly a hospice nurse for 15 of those. I have been honored to be at the side of many people as they transitioned from this world to the next. I have seen and have had countless experiences during this time of transition to know just how real and thin the veil is between us and them. I have seen 100’s of peoples’ ancestors come for them during this transition and witnessed their recognition first hand. This was further reinforced after the sudden death of my husband of 17 years, when I was only 36 and I felt his presence and support ever since, along with my angels, ancestors, and the divine.
Who is your favourite teacher, book and movie?
My favorite movie is Eat, Pray, Love…I dream of being able to take an extended amount of time to travel, eat delicious food, have time to meditate, and meet and understand cultures from all over the world. My favorite books would be the Harry Potter series and Mary Magdalene: Reveled.
What’s the strangest experience you’ve ever had?
The strangest experience I have ever had was receiving a phone call and voicemail from my late husband about 2 years after his death on my cell phone. I could only make out the words “I Love You”. It was strange and wonderful all at the same time.
What’s one interesting thing we do not know about you yet?
I have a black belt in Taekwondo!
What do you feel your true life purpose to be?
To help others, whether ill or widowed, to find a true balance between physical, emotional, and spiritual well being.
What’s your favourite animal?
My favorite animal is my dogs. They bring me love, comfort, and joy and always know when I need extra attention.
What’s your favourite consciousness or energy ‘exercise’ that helps you stay connected, grounded and ‘tuned in’ in a good way?
Everyday I start my day with a reading, drawing a card, and doing a meditation exercise. It is a great way to greet whatever the day may bring and grounds me to the physical while reinforcing the support I have spiritually.
What’s your favourite music / song / musical artist?
My favorite song is “Lonely” by Pepper. It got me through some really tough and dark days after my husband died. I love a wide variety of music from Sinatra to alternative, anything that makes me happy.
What’s your favourite food?
Homemade macaroni and cheese!
What excites your creative juices?
Discovering new healing modalities and how everything is truly connected in so many ways.
What’s the one thing you’d like to “shamelessly self promote” here today?
