Michaela Jones, ND

Integrative Holistic Health Specialist

I am a degreed naturopathic professional. I hold the credential of Doctor of Naturopathy from Trinity School of Natural Health, and am board certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners as a Holistic Health Practitioner.

I additionally hold degrees and general certifications as Certified Natural Health Practitioner, Certified Nutritional Consultant and Certified Medical Intuitive, in addition to specialty certifications in Clinical Aromatherapy, Bach Flowers, Iridology, Reams and Western Herbology. I also hold practitioner certifications in Emotion Code, Body Code and SHAPE ReClaimed. I specialize in naturopathic nutrition, body chemistry balancing and therapeutic support for those dealing with emotional trauma, past or present.

That’s a lot to digest, I know (pun intended). This is what you really need to know. I work with adults and older teens who struggle with mysterious pains and ailments, who have been to all of the doctors and tried all the programs, but still have no relief. I help them uncover and address underlying root causes so that they can heal and live symptom-free.

I also work with people who have experienced severe emotional trauma that is now causing physical or lifestyle issues, including illnesses, excess weight, extreme stress, inability to maintain relationships or move forward in life; and those have issues with food or nourishment –  whether it’s food allergies, excess weight, chronic inflammation, or the like.

I am a cookbook author, specializing in food allergies, an avid food allergy advocate, and “better-for-you-foods” foodie.

I am affectionately known as the “code breaker.” I just love solving problems. As a former Advanced Systems Analyst and Database Designer for a major multi-national corporation, I know how to effectively break down complex issues and a build a solution to achieve the desired outcome. I used to analyze computer systems, now I analyze body systems. After all, what’s a body but a complex, living, moving computer system.

As an Integrative Holistic Health Specialist, I have a diverse set of skills that I put to use, no matter what the issue is. Plus, I am constantly adding to my skills to better serve my clients and community. So, you never really get just one service with me. My goal is to meet you where you are and help you get to where you want to be. I will use whatever is at my disposal to get you there.

My Approach

Wellness is a state of being healthy in body and mind, as the result of deliberate effort. It is an approach to healthcare that emphasizes preventing illness and prolonging life, as opposed to emphasizing and treating diseases.

I approach health from a whole body perspective and recognize that true wellness is a delicate balance of body, mind and spirit-each with it’s own set of parameters. I am trained in multiple disciplines and modalities to help you achieve your health goals.

I am not here to tell you what to do like a drill sergeant, but rather to walk along side of you to help you accomplish your goals. I hope to help you identify weaknesses and make healthier choices to take control of your own health and well-being. I look at each person’s individual body chemistry, temperament, health goals and other factors to come up with the best plan of action geared specifically for them. I truly understand that what works for one, may not work for another. So let’s uncover what works for you!

11 Things About Michaela ….

What was your first moment of ‘beyond 3d normal awakening’?
My first moment of beyond 3D normal awakening was when I realized that I could literally feel energy moving through my body and could manipulate that energy. I keenly remember the sensation of electrical energy radiating from my hands through the tips of my fingers, almost like little lightning sparks. I could also see a glow around my hands while they were “sparking.”
Who is your favourite teacher, book and movie?
I have few favorite teachers, who impacted me at various times in my life. The first is Dr. Andrew Weil. When I going through my nutrition training decades ago, I took one of his classes. He said something that profoundly affected me. It was basically about being able to balance life and not be so rigid as to not enjoy meals with your family and friends. While this was meant for nutrition, it applies to all life. We must have balance in order to truly enjoy life.
The second is Dr. Brad Nelson. He is the reason I became interested in energy healing as a working modality. Being exposed to his work was when I realized that my innate ability to feel and move energy can be used to help others. He also helped me to see that I could be a conduit for the healing of others. I even adopted one of his phrases in my practice, “I just work here.” Energy work is the perfect complement to naturopathy in holistic care.
The third is Ann Hession. She was more of a coach and mentor, than a teacher. She helped me learn to appreciate myself as an energy healer, in addition to being an ND, and not feel like I had to hide my abilities, which seems a little woo woo for some. She helped me to embrace the woo. Ha ha. She also helped me to integrate all of me into what I do as a practitioner, recognizing that my life experience–all of it–brings value to what I do.
My favorite book is, “Pride and Prejudice” by Jane Austen. It’s a classic.
My favorite movie is actually a mini-series, also “Pride and Prejudice.” The BBC version. It is the gold standard of book adaptations. It really did the book justice. The entire cast was extraordinary.
What’s the strangest experience you’ve ever had?
The strangest experience I ever had was a waking dream, where I felt people ascending to another place through me, with each of them saying thank you as they passed through.
What’s one interesting thing we do not know about you yet?
One interesting thing about me that you do not know yet is that my first career was a systems analyst. I troubleshot network problems and designed databases for major corporations. I still use these skills today in my holistic work. My analytical side allows me to break down issues and get to the root of problems, whether physically, emotionally, or both. I have been affectionately nicknamed the “code breaker” among my colleagues. I like to say I just switched from computer systems to body systems. After all, what is the human body other than an intricate network with a centralized computer brain?
What do you feel your true life purpose to be?
I feel that my true life purpose is to help people heal, emotionally and physically; to provide a non-judgmental space for them to be authentic; support and help them walk their own unique journey in life. I am particularly drawn to help those who have experienced deep emotional trauma or have ongoing chronic physical pain, which is often related.
What’s your favourite animal?
My favorite animal is a dolphin. Dolphins are highly intelligent and constantly thinking. They are also very sensitive and emotional. They really connect to others. Even though they are additionally cautious, as well, they do like to have fun when surrounded by the right pod.
What’s your favourite consciousness or energy ‘exercise’ that helps you stay connected, grounded and ‘tuned in’ in a good way?
I have a couple favorite consciousness and energy exercises that help me stay grounded.
The first is tone therapy. It’s a combination of mindful meditation while listening to generated sound tones meant to put your mind in a meditative state more quickly and efficiently. A three minute mediation feels like a 30 minute one. It’s great for busy days, as I can always carve out a few minutes for a quick session.
The other is tai chi, also known as moving meditation. I love the feeling of moving energy around and the flow of body movement. It’s also a great low impact way to strengthen the physical body while meditating. I am all about multi-tasking whenever possible.
What’s your favourite music / song / musical artist?
Again, I have multiple favorites here, too. I love all kinds of music. Music moves me. My favorite music for when I want a pick-me-up is 80’s dance music. My general favorite type of music, though, is classical. I like Bach, Beethoven and Vivaldi the most. Fur Elise and Cannon in D are two of my favorite classical pieces.
What’s your favourite food?
My favorite food is sweet potato. I don’t know why. I just love this orange vegetable in so many ways – mashed, fried, baked, roasted, grilled – you name it!
What excites your creative juices?
Learning something new always excites my creative juices. I am constantly learning. I love helping people. So, I also love learning new ways to do that, and figuring out how I can incorporate it into what I already do.
What’s the one thing you’d like to “shamelessly self promote” here today?
The one thing I would like to shamelessly promote is my free inflammation assessment. Over 80% of the population suffers from inflammation-related issues, both physical and emotional. Many don’t even know it. They think inflammation is just about swelling and joint pain, but it can also be a factor in excessive weight, body toxicity, depression, anxiety and a slew of other things. From an energetic standpoint, inflammation also equals lots of anger. The root of the anger almost always has to be worked out for true healing. Taming inflammation is one of the best things a person can do for their health. Helping people with this is one of the biggest segments of my practice. I create customized programs for clients to deal with it from all angles – physically, emotionally and energetically. However, you can’t fix what you don’t know. Awareness is the first step. This special assessment will help you see where you stand. It can be very eye opening.
