About Nur Ambreen

Nur Ambreen Ihsanullah is a transformative speaker and healer with over three decades of experience navigating the depths of personal crisis to self-actualization with her clients. Her journey began with the dissolution of her marriage, a pivotal moment that propelled her into a lifelong quest for healing and personal growth. With a master’s in counselling psychology and extensive training in Gestalt Therapy, Family Systems, and Marriage Therapy, as well as certifications in energy, shamanic, and spiritual healing systems, Nur has cultivated a unique method for discovering and healing trauma at its root so her clients live from their unique soul essence and have the loving relationships they long for in life.

Her work is deeply influenced by her studies in Family Constellations, as she integrates the profound teachings of Bert Hellinger into her practice, offering clients a pathway to healing generational traumas that transcend traditional psychotherapy by addressing the root causes of their challenges within the family system. Nur’s commitment to her own spiritual and psychological growth, combined with her compassionate approach to counselling, makes her a sought-after mentor, healer, and guide for those seeking to navigate their own paths from inner pain to peace, love and freedom.

Right now, more than ever, there is a heightened focus on what needs to change in the world – how we communicate, how we act, and how we interact with others. Long buried corruption, conflict and war in the global arena are also felt in our communities and in our homes. Generational conflicts and trauma are up for healing in our families as the proverbial  family skeletons come out of the closet.

Our children are living in, and acting out, the unattended wounds of their parents and grandparents on back through the ancestral lineage. We are suffering from separation, alienated, isolated, feeling misunderstood and longing for the love and belonging we need, like the air we breathe.

Our guest today is relationship and family expert Nur Ambreen Ihsanullah. She has over 30 years of professional training and experience teaching and counselling individuals, couples, and families all over the world. She specializes in getting to the root of whatever is blocking you from experiencing deep, intimate, and lasting relationships.

Nur’s clients call her their guiding light, illuminating the path back to their soul and she is here today to talk about how to reconnect with our true essence and live in infinite love.

Benefits to Working with Me

The most important benefit you will attain is to remember, recover and reclaim your essential self. When you are connected to yourself and your soul’s guidance, you have the internal resources, calm, clarity and confidence you need to live life authentically and make your satisfying contribution in the world.

My work and life experience have shown me that our pain, conflicts and difficulties in life are primarily the result of a disconnect from our essential self and soul guidance. We are all conditioned by our society, culture, family and primary caregivers — mother and father. Unfortunately, for many, the conditioning is detrimental to healthy growth and development.

Life lives through all of us and despite the best upbringing, life brings challenges and experiences which may be wounding.

Life can be overwhelming and debilitating without the support necessary to live an authentic and fulfilling life.

Family and friends all have their own perspectives to offer. However, a skilled and empathetic soul companion and guide, who is consistently doing her own inner growth work, will facilitate your reconnection with the light of your inner intelligence and guidance to leave you strong, secure and satisfied deep within yourself.

My Approach to Counselling

My approach is humanistic, holistic and locates the individual within their family system, ancestral lineage and singular soul and spiritual light connected to the Infinite.

We are greater and more profound than the sum of our individual aspects. Over the years, the synergy of all my education, trainings and experience has led me to hone a unique process which connects with the deeper intelligence within us and goes well beyond traditional talk therapy to get to the root of any problem, whether in the area of family, intimate relationships, work, health or finances and resolve it once and for all.

Soul to Soul Counselling integrates mind, body, and soul, to transform what was experienced as a debilitating issue into a strength and resource deep within yourself.

11 Things About ‘Nur’ Ambreen

1. What was your first moment of ‘beyond 3d normal awakening’?

My experience of being immersed in an intense and prolonged burst of warm golden light, which I knew was God showing Itself to me,during a Sufi retreat and meditation when I was in my early 30s, was my first dramatic experience of awakening beyond 3-D reality. Before that as a young child 3-5 years old, I had experiences of other dimensions and other beings such as flower divas, similar to those described in the Celestine Prophecy. I have always had a sense of knowing of a Greater Force in the universes.

2. Who is your favourite teacher, book and movie?

I have been blessed with amazing teachers who have loved and nurtured me right from grade 1 with Mrs. Phillips who supported me as a new student from Pakistan back in 1967! Mrs Middleton in grade 4 and 5, Mr. Lowery in grade 7 and so on through to a number of teachers in high school and university. Any wonder that I too became a high school teacher?
Is an adult I’ve had the privilege to be guided by beautiful teachers on the Sufi path.

I was an avid reader from the minute I learned to read so really hard to pick a favourite book. Through my school years I drove my mother crazy with my nose in a book from the minute I woke up on a weekend morning reading in bed till noon, bringing my book to the table at meal times much to her irritation , and reading in bed till 2:00 am with the flashlight! Good books and bags of Lays potato chips ( we didn’t have Mrs. Vicky‘s back then) got me quite happily through summer vacations.

My love of movies is only second to my love of books. Growing up in the 70s there were plenty of good Elvis movies to watch on weekends. Even today I love the old black-and-white movies and movie stars. Today’s TCM channel is one of my favorites.

3. What’s the strangest experience you’ve ever had?

I’ve had way too many “strange experiences” in my life probably because I’ve always been very open to people and whatever is happening in the moment. Maybe one of the most strange experiences was visiting a new friend and her family in Vermont. My daughter and I were staying at their beautiful home on a wooded acreage. One night I drove into town with her husband to pick up some groceries. We were on a pitch dark dirt road driving through the woods when her husband, a very regular guy, chose to tell me very calmly and in great detail that they were aliens from another planet. Sounds like a joke, but he wasn’t kidding.

4. What’s one interesting thing we do not know about you yet?

When my marriage ended, I went from being a social butterfly to a spiritual butterfly at age 32. This pivotal event in my life launched me into my life purpose, and desire to know myself deeply. After a year of exploration of many spiritual paths I committed to the Sufi Mystical path of Islam. Now 30 years later I know very clearly that God has always guided my life and brought me to the places, people and events which I have been made for in this life.

5. What do you feel your true life purpose to be?

Great lead into what I believe is my life purpose. For me, believing in and loving God means loving and serving Its creation in this life. The idea of faith in action. I know I was made to be a teacher and have been a high school teacher for 30 years. It’s been my passion and my life‘s privilege to have supported thousands of young people in such a pivotal point in their lives.

In my journey to “find myself” after my divorce, I also ended up doing my masters in counseling, psychology and post grad trainings in various psychotherapies and spiritual healing modalities. While counselling is what I’ve done naturally all my life with people in my sphere, including many students, practising psychotherapy and spiritual healing work professionally through the years has taken on a more intense focus in the last 10 years after retirement from teaching in school. It’s also clear to me that teaching is really mastery learning at it’s root and I am a lifelong learner on this journey back to the Creator. It turns out that I’m a Mystic at heart

6. What’s your favourite animal?

I love lions and by extension cats of which I’ve had a few. A close second is elephants and then camels! So many amazing aspects of their family life, and the mythology and mystique around these three animals really intrigues me and reflects aspects of my personality and values in life to me.

7. What’s your favourite consciousness or energy ‘exercise’ that helps you stay connected, grounded and ‘tuned in’ in a good way?

Prayer and reflection and particularly prayer in the Islamic tradition.

8. What’s your favourite music / song / musical artist?

I’m a disco duck from the 1970s! The Bee Gees and Saturday Night Fever ( the album and the movie—not to mention John Travolta in the pivotal role!) define grade 12. I love Earth, Wind and Fire and their hit song “September”. And then there’s ABBA…But those days were great for classic rock as well. 1960s soul music and rhythm and blues cannot be beat. Again, too many great bands and artists to pick just one.

9. What’s your favourite food?

I love spicy food from my own Pakistani tradition, as well as Thai, Mexican and basically any kind of food that involves hot red chilies peppers

10. What excites your creative juices?

Great conversations. As an extrovert my creative juices are activated by intelligent, open-minded people with a spiritual event who give me new perspectives on life, excite critical thinking, and beyond the box approaches to any situation and I love a good story!

11. What’s the one thing you’d like to “shamelessly self promote” here today?

I would love to shamelessly self promote my unique way of working with people who are ready to do their inner work and get beyond the conditioning, old wounds, and traumas, which have been keeping them stuck in life so they can not only discover the truth of their being but live their life in freedom and real love while actualizing their soul purpose in this life.
