Mat Brooker performs latin, world & nuevo flamenco infused music on his spanish guitar. He lives in Port Macquarie and performs regularly both as a solo artist and with a group. Mat started playing guitar at age 12, inspired by punk rock such as Sonic Youth, Nirvana as well as Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, etc from the classic rock style.  His love of universal flavours led him to world music from around the globe. Mat has embraced a world fusion style with his nylon string guitar playing, drawing strong influence from the passion & excitement of flamenco, a touch of easy joy from Cuba, elements of European classical & the take-no-prisoners attack of punk rock. When he got a gig improvising solo guitar instrumentals outside of a small Spanish restaurant , the response was overwhelming with many people enjoying the vibrant guitar style. The demand for guitar music led Mat to record his first instrumental album “La Puesta del Sol” (meaning sunset).
